Storage of bovine semen in liquid and frozen state.
This review describes the historical and current methods used for storage of bovine semen. The essential physiological differences between liquid and frozen semen, their relative advantages and disadvantages are addressed, and the current state of technology, the procedures used, their merits and future possibilities are also discussed.
متن کاملResistive Liquid-Vapor Surface Sensors for Liquid Nitrogen and Hydrogen
Ten resistance thermometers were tested as point sensors for detecting the liquid-vapor interface in liquid nitrogen and liquid hydrogen. Test results showed that most could be made to detect the liquid surface and lead orientation can be important. A silicon resistive sensor had the fastest response and produced the greatest signal change.
متن کاملComparative Study on Conception Rate of Cow in Using Frozen and Liquid Semen
The experiment was carried out at District Artificial Insemination (AI) Center at Khulna to evaluate the conception rate of frozen semen and locally produced liquid semen. Frozen semen from five different genotypes (Local, Sahiwal×Friesian, (Local×Friesian)2×Friesian, (Local×Friesian)×(Local×Frisian×Friesian), Local×Friesian) of bulls was taken which was served by Central Cattle Breeding Statio...
متن کاملGlutatione peroxidase in bovine semen.
The roles ofselenium (Se) and glutathione peroxidase in reproductive function are poorly understood, but it is possible that they may be important for normal reproduction in the male. In rats fed a Se-deficient diet, the testes accumulated and retained more 75Se than did other tissues 1 week after injection (Brown & Burk, 1972; Burk, Brown, Seely & Scaief, 1972). Autoradiographic studies (Brown...
متن کاملEffect of Various Concentrations of Caffeine, Pentoxifylline, and Kallikrein on Hyperactivation of Frozen Bovine Semen
Caffeine, pentoxifylline, and kallikrein are substances that affect the efficiency of sperms in the fertilization process; however, they have not been adequately studied. The present study aimed to examine the influence of caffeine, kallikrein, and pentoxifylline on sperm motility in bovine as well as investigate their optimum concentrations for increasing the movement of sperms in bovine. Froz...
